John was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he dreamed of being a professional baseball player (as well as an astronomer, geologist, chef, paleontologist, archaeologist, and meteorologist). When baseball didn’t pan out, John decided he would take his passion for writing and making people laugh (or angry, depending on their outlook on life) as his primary focus. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2012 and 2014 with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English.
While John’s larger works are travel memoirs and collections of historical events, he also writes humorous blog articles about daily life, sometimes venturing into politics, sports, religion, and relationships. When he’s not writing his next book, he goes out to explore waterfalls in the mountains of North Carolina.
John now happily earns a living as an Account Manager for a branding firm in Charlotte because let’s be honest, being an author is only a full-time job for maybe a dozen people these days. When he isn’t writing, John is producing his own music, watching NASCAR, trying to be fit at the gym, or playing softball.
